Abstract

618,011. Turbine and like blading. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON. Oct. 14, 1946, No. 30549. Convention date, Dec. 14, 1945. [Class 110 (iii)] In a turbine or like rotor, the slots which receive the blade roots are rectilinear and lie in an axial, or nearly axial direction. Spacers may be inserted between the blade roots and the slots are closed by discs secured on the ends of the rotor. The end blades may be securely fixed to the rotor and slight axial play left for the other blades. The blade roots and slot sides have corresponding grooves to receive square, triangular or round keys as at 14, Fig. 5. The contacting sides of the blade roots may be oblique to the slot walls. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the use of blades with dovetailed or notched roots. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
