572,090. Elastic-fluid turbines. SVENSKA TURBINFABRIKS AKTIEBOLAGET LJUNGSTROM. March 14, 1944, No. 4742. Convention date, Feb. 24, 1943. [Class 110 (iii)] A method of assembling, blades 4 and 6 on the periphery of a disc 1, in which a bladeinsertion slot 3, narrower than the peripheral length of a blade 4, is used, comprises inserting a group of main blades 4 each with claw-like projection 5 extending for only part of its length, inserting a minor group of blades 6, shorter than 4, Fig. 3, inserting a blade 7 with projections arranged as shown and adding spacers 8, Fig. 5 and a final, tapered spacer 9. The disc periphery may straddle single blade roots. The spacers 8 do not have claw-like projections, being slid between pairs of blades 6 to which they are secured by riveting or otherwise. The number of slots 3 is preferably four. The length a for the minor group is equal to 2 <2>/3 of the peripheral length of a " main " blade root. Specification 461,058 is referred to.
