Abstract
980,656. Gas turbine blade mounting. GORLITZER MASCHINENBAU VEB. Dec. 21, 1962, No. 48364/62. Heading FIT. Blades are mounted on the rotor of a turbine or like machine by roots extending into a peripheral groove, at least one intermediate piece being arranged between adjacent roots, each intermediate piece engaging in the groove flanks and with at least one shear pin mounted with its axis parallel to the rotor axis in the clearance between the piece and the adjacent blade root whereby the intermediate pieces carry the centrifugal force of the blades and only bear against the adjacent blade roots by means of the shear pins. The root 1 of a blade 2 is retained in a peripheral groove in the rotor 7 by pins 3 engaging intermediate pieces 4 having shoulders 5 engaging the sides of the groove. The assembly of roots 2 and pieces 4 is locked peripherally by filling pieces 15, 16, wedges 17 and closure pieces 18 between divided intermediate pieces 4. The pins 3 may be arranged in two pairs, as shown, or other combinations of pins 3 may be used such as two on one side of the root 1 and one on the other side, or one either side. The peripherally opposing faces of the roots 1 and pieces 4 may be radially bevelled. The machining of the half holes for the pins 3 and the method of assembly of the roots 1 and pieces 4 in the peripheral groove are described.
