Abstract

532,357. Elastic fluid turbines. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Aug. 26, 1939, No. 24581. Convention date, Aug. 27, 1938. [Class 110 (iii)] The abutting edge of the roots of turbine blades are bevelled as at 22 and welded together. The side faces of the roots have grooves 17 parallel with and as deep as the welds. The meeting faces may have aligned grooves 20 forming bores which separate the welds from the cracks 19 between the faces. The blades described are secured to the rotor by the known inverted dovetail structure.
