Abstract

389,685. Steam turbines. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET, Vasteras, Sweden. June 2, 1932, No. 15697. Convention date, June 4, 1931. [Class 110 (iii).] In a radial-flow turbine in which the main blading is carried by two oppositely positioned discs, both of which may be rotatable, auxiliary bladings are included between the discs. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, steam passes from a chamber 21 to a radial flow section 6 from which it is led by a passage 9 to the main radial flow section 10. The passage 9 may be bladed for inward flow, and axial flow blades 17, 18 may be provided in the low pressure region. Passages 32, 33, 36 permit the intermediate admission or extraction of steam, and the passage 36 may be controlled by a valve 35. In Fig. 2 the steam, admitted at 44, passes in turn through the following sections : outward flow 46, inward flow 47, outward flow 50, inward flow 51, outward flow 40, and, finally divided axial flow 52.
