Abstract

289,427. Aktiebolaget Ljungstr÷ms Angturbin. April 27, 1927, [Convention date]. Rotors.-In a radial flow turbine, the blade carrying discs are formed as annular elements as described in Specification 6104/09, and are connected together by bolts which are wholly or partly hollow. The object is to prevent deformation owing to temperature changes. Fig. 2 shows the application to one rotor of a combined-flow turbine of the oppositely-running rotor type. The elements 21, 22 carrying the inner ring of radial-flow blades, and the outer element 23 carrying the outer rings of radial-flow blades, and also the ring or axial-flow blades, are connected by hollow bolts 26 which pass through registering holes. The bolts are larger than the holes and must be forced in when the parts are cold, but they permit of some radial play when the parts are hot. Radial displacement of the bolts is prevented by stops 28, 31, or by other means. The sections of the bolts outside the holes may be of reduced diameter, and the bolts may have grooves 32 which may be filled with lubricant. A passage 24 is provided for drawing off or admitting driving fluid. A modification, in which two annular elements are connected, is described.
