Abstract
399,440. Steam turbines. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET, Vasteras, Sweden. May 18, 1933, No. 14454. Convention date, May 18, 1932. [Class 110 (iii).] In a radial-flow turbine having two or more axially displaced bladings 1, 2, using the steam in series, the inwardly projecting blade-carrying disc 7 is connected to the outwardly projecting disc 3 by a member which is not integral with either disc. In Fig. 1, the member is formed as a ring 13 having at one end a rolled connection with the disc 7, and, at the other end, a rolled connection with a plate 14 which is adapted to be bolted to the disc 3. In Fig. 2, a ring 17 is connected to the disc 7 and to a plate 20 by bolts 18, 19, and the plate 20 is secured to the disc by axial bolts 21 passing through and holding the labyrinth disc 22. Part of the blading 2 is carried by an outer ring 7<1> which is connected by a ring 16 to the disc 3. In Fig. 3, the connecting ring 24 is secured at one end by the bolts 28 which join the two disc parts 7, 7<1>, and at the other end by bolts 31. A steam tight joint is formed by an inner ring 25. The space 33 between the rings may be used for the intermediate admission or extraction of steam. It may open into the labyrinth space 38 for balancing end thrust.
