Abstract

280,407. Foamite Firefoam, Ltd., (Foamite-Chidds Corporation). Sept. 1, 1926. Mixing solids with fluids in flow. - In an apparatus for mixing powder with liquid for the purpose of producing a fire-extinguishing foam, of the kind comprising a conduit for conveying a stream of the liquid and a receptacle for the powder in communication with the conduit, the communication, through which the powder is sucked, is provided with a check valve. The apparatus is similar to that described in Specification 280,313 and comprises a conduit 1 fitted with a Venturi tube communicating by a passage 8 with the power receptable 11 fitting in a mouth 16. The valve 14, mounted in a casing 15, is faced with rubber and the seating 19 is furnished with a rim 23, or vice versa. The conduit is furnished with a guide 22 as described in Specification 280,408.
