Abstract

442,556. Housings for flexible pipes. LOGETTE, A. I., and DAINTON, E. H., Skyhi Works, Standard Road, Park Royal, London. Aug. 23, 1934, No. 24344. [Class 99 (ii)] In apparatus for dispensing fluids such as petrol, lubricant, &c. through a flexible delivery pipe 1 normally located in a sheetmetal housing 2, the housing is fitted with one or more rotatably - mounted pulleys 3, 3<x> upon which the pipe is supported in one or more open U-shaped loops and the loops are provided with slidably - mounted counterweights, e.g. pulleys 4, 4<x> with axles 4<a>, the arrangement being such that the pipe is automatically returned to the housing upon release of its delivery nozzle after use. The ends of the axles 4<a> project into grooved guides arranged on opposite sides of the housing, the lower ends of the guides being provided with elastic buffers; alternatively, they are journalled in a frame comprising a pair of side plates 4<b> and end bars 4<c>, the latter forming slides which contact with the end walls of the housing and a rubber &c. cushion 15 for the said frame being located at the bottom of the housing. The inlet end 5 of the pipe is connected to the fluid supply pipe 12 through a pipe 9 and meter 11, and the delivery end 6 passes through guides in an opening 2<a> at the upper end of the housing.
