Abstract
406,388. Making foam. HIGHT, G. F., 26, Blockley Road, North Wembley, and WEBB, C. H., 22, St. Mary's Crescent, Hendon, both in Middlesex. Sept. 8, 1932, No. 25074. [Class 47 (ii).] A device for dispensing liquid soap as a foam or lather comprises a container 1 having a lower compartment 3 for the soap and an upper compartment 2 for a filling aperture 15 and an air pump 5. The latter is adapted to force air past a non-return valve 10 to a pipe 9, the lower end of which is connected to a nipple 11 at the. bottom of a foam delivery pipe 12. Apertures 13 are provided for entry of the soap into the pipe 12. In a modification, Fig. 2, an air distributer 20 connected to an air bulb 18 is arranged in the flared lower end 22 of a foam delivery pipe 23. The spout 25 of the pipe 23 overhangs the cover 24 of the container 17, so that surplus foam returns into the container through an aperture 26. In another modification, the air pipe is arranged concentrically with the foam pipe. The air pump or bulb may be replaced by a hand or electric fan or other source of compressed air.
