Abstract
768,239. Dispensing liquids. SANDER; J. S. Feb. 10, 1955 [Dec. 21, 1953], No. 35474/53. Class 116. The body of a spout for delivering liquids is formed with two parallel . passages 22, 23, Fig. 2, which communicate at their upper ends, while a non-return valve 24 normally seats on a shoulder in the passage 22 to control flow of liquid to the passage 23 from the lower end of which. the liquid is discharged. As illustrated the lower end 23a of the passage 23 is reduced so that capillary action prevents drips, and the valve 24 is a ball valve accessible by removing a cap 19. In an alternative construction the shapes of the passages 22, 23 are modified and the ball valve 24 is replaced by a valve 34, Fig. 7, biased to close by a spring 33 bearing against the cap 19. The spout 17 may be carried at the end of a hinged or flexible pipe 16a, Fig. 4, delivering liquid from a plunger pump 10 which may be fitted beneath a counter 25 to extend into container 11 a. A cup 35 may be provided to receive the spout 17 and a stirrer may extend into the container 11 a. Specification 658,112 [Group XXIX] is referred to.
