Abstract

335,998. British United Shoe Machinery Co., Ltd., and Barnett, W. July 9, 1929. Direct air-pressure apparatus, non-automatic. -A device for dispensing liquid cement &c. in small quantities at a time from a container comprises a hollow cap member 10 screw-threaded at 16 to grip tightly the opening of a can 12, a pipe 24 extending above the liquid in the can and connected through a passage 30 and a non- return valve 33 to a hand pump 32, and an outlet 34 controlled by means of a spring-pressed plug tap 36, a safety valve 35 being provided. The cap member 10 is mounted on a base 14 provided with a tray 38, on the underside of which electrical heating means may be provided for use with viscous liquids. In an alternative arrangement a valve conduit through which air under pressure may be supplied is situated near the normal bottom of the can. Specifications 7331/06, [Class 125, Stoppering &c.], and 1135/15, [Class 135, Valves &c.], are referred to.
