Abstract

229,549. Proctor, J. W. June 16, 1924. Fixed-chamber apparatus.-A can for delivering measured quantities of milk or other liquid is formed with a semi-circular groove e adapted to accommodate a measuring vessel h, the top b of the can having a part projecting over the groove to form a cover part f for the vessel h, the part f having an opening q permitting communication between the can and the measuring vessel upon the latter being tilted as shown in Fig. 2. The glass or other measuring vessel shown in Fig. 1 is supported by a perforated base j carried by a hollow spindle k mounted in the cover f and enclosing a spring-controlled valve stem m adapted to be depressed to release the contents of the measuring vessel. The open top of the measuring vessel is received in the grooved underside of the cover part f, a packing ring being provided to make a liquid-tight joint. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the base j is provided with a tap or cock p, the spindle serving merely to support the vessel.
