Abstract
799,508. Disinfecting apparatus. COIGLEY, S. M. July 20, 1956 [July 22, 1955], No. 21224/55. Class 81 (1). [Also in Group XVII] A container 10 for disinfecting a feeding bottle 11 in a sterilizing liquid has a closure member 15 that can enter the container to reduce its volume and so cause the sterilizing liquid to rise and expel any air in the container through a closable vent. As shown, the closure member 15 has a frustoconical underside 17 rising to a central vent opening 22 provided with a closure cap 23 or a non-return valve. Liquid expelled through the vent 22 collects in a gutter 25 formed by the upper surface of the member 15. The closure member 15 may be screwed into the container against a sealing ring 20 or it may have a sliding fit past a sealing ring let into a circumferential groove in the container. A cup 14, a spoon 27, and a teat 26 may be accommodated as shown. The bottle 11 may be held against movement by upstanding projections 12, 13 on the base of the container and by engagement with the surface 17. The container and closure may be of plastic material and the closure member, when inverted, may be used as a funnel.
