Values actuated indirectly.- Apparatus for raising and delivering liquid comprises a valve 2 slidable axially in a casing 1, which communicates by a pipe 10 with the liquid to be raised and Ly a pipe 12 with a suct i o n apparatus. When the valve is raised by pressing the mouth 15 of the receiving vessel against the pad 14 on the valve, the end 11 of a conduit 8 registers with the suction passage 12, and the end of a conduit 7 registers with the liquid passage 10.
