[Classes 102(i) and 102(ii)] A positive-displacement pump B is connected by a valve I to two pipes 9, 10 that lead to a nozzle 20 immersed in a liquid. In the position of the valve shown, air is drawn through opening 7 and delivered to both pipes to force the liquid out of the system through the nozzle 20. The valve is then moved to a position to connect pipe 10 to the opening 7 and pipe 9 to the pump section, whereby liquid is drawn up pipe 9 and air is mixed with it in the chamber 21, the proportion depending on the pump suction.
