Abstract

1,036,538. Raising liquids by vacuum. COMPAGNIE DES COMPTEURS. Nov. 3, 1964 [Nov. 4, 1963], No. 44752/64. Heading F1R. Liquid in a tank 1 is drawn into a tank 2 in which a vacuum is maintained by a pump 15; it flows via a non-return valve 9 into a vessel 3, air being drawn through pipes 12, 19 until the rising level of liquid in the vessel 3 raises float 17 to close valve 13 after which liquid is drawn through the vessel 3, meter 6 and pipe 19 into the tank 2. A solenoid actuated valve 8 is opened to start the flow and is closed by a vacuum actuated switch 4 when the tank 1 is empty.
