Abstract

Gas vent valve (4) is intended for fitting on the top of a tank containing liquid and a valve body with inlet (37) at its lower end for fitting on the tank and an outlet (7) at the upper end of the valve chamber (3). The outlet is provided with a first closure member (9, 11) capable of closing the outlet when the chamber is filled with liquid. The closure member is operated by the liquid when this enters the chamber. The outlet (7) may be connected (8) to a downward outlet (19) with a second closure member (17, 20, 25) closing this outlet (19) when the water level outside rises to the level of this outlet (19), the second member being actuated by the water.
