[Also in Group I] A water tank includes an inlet pipe 12 and a stop valve 13 actuated by a float 14 and overflow means in the form of a U-shaped pipe 15 consisting of two parts 15a, 15b joined by a connector 16. In use the overflow tube operates as a siphon when the water level in the tank rises above the level of the connector 16 due to a fault in the valve 13. The tank empties to the level of the bottom of the tube 15a at a greater rate than the rate of flow into the tank through the inlet pipe 12.
