Abstract

1,195,251. Washing tanks. C.P. EQUIPMENT Ltd. 15 Feb., 1968 [1 May, 1967], No. 20026/67. Heading A4F. [Also in Division B8] Apparatus for washing a tank 2 has a washing liquid flow path from a reservoir 1, through a shut-off valve 6, a venturi 7 and a pump 8 before entering the tank through sprays 5. When not in operation any liquid that leaks through the valve 6 passes into a branch passage 9, through a one-way valve 12 to a drain 11, During a washing cycle, flow of fluid through the venturi causes a suction in the passage 9 which closes the valve 12 and stops air entering. A suction is also caused in passage 13 which opens a one-way valve 18 so that either a detergent container 14 or a sterilent container 15 can be brought into use, depending on which shut-off valve 16 or 17 is opened. The level of liquid in the reservoir is regulated by a float control 3. A control circuit includes timing means whereby a complete series of operations can be initiated, viz. rinse with water only, wash with water and detergent, final sterilization with water and sterilent.
