Abstract
269,214. Riehl, H. V. April 12, 1926, [Convention date]. Mixing fluids in flow.-A device for mixing fluids and delivering the mixture comprises two plates 1, 2, Fig. 1, having orifices 6, 7 disposed so that the projection of either orifice on the opposite plate is tangential to the periphery of the other orifice, a fluid under pressure being forced through one of the orifices and inducing the second fluid through the other orifice. The mixed fluids pass out through holes 12. The device may take the form of long plates 15, 16 having orifices 17, 18, Fig. 3; a tube 31 bent to the form shown in Fig. 7; cup-shaped members 42, 43, Fig. 11; or of a tube 35, 36. Fig. 9, wider at its orifices 38, 41 than at its delivery holes, having a draught tube 37 and adapted for use as a carburettor. The size and position of the apertures may be varied, while the device may also be used to convey liquids, powders, or other materials.
