406,233. Mixing fluids in flow. ORNSTEIN, G., 48, Alexandrinenstrasse, Berlin. Oct. 13, 1933, No. 28392. Convention date, Oct. 14, 1932. [Class 86.] Apparatus for adding a fluid at low pressure to a fluid in flow comprises means, such as a Venturi, for inducing a temporary reduction of pressure in the main stream, a shunt circuit being provided between the resulting point of low pressure and a high pressure point in which circuit is provided means for inducing a temporary reduction of pressure, at which point the auxiliary fluid is added. In the form shown, the shunt circuit 4 includes an injector 6 to which the added fluid is supplied from a container 9. The Venturi 2 may be replaced by a weir in the case of liquid flowing in a channel, and, in a further modification, a second shunt circuit may be provided between the point 7 and the upstream side of the main Venturi, the added fluid being supplied to an injector in the second shunt circuit.
