Abstract
480,457. Mixing fluids in flow. PATERSON, W. Oct. 15, 1936, No. 28068. [Class 86] Apparatus for adding minute quantities of one liquid to a stream of another comprises a vessel containing the first liquid which is gradually displaced by another from which it is separated by a float which prevents diffusion and also may indicate the level of the first liquid. As shown in the Figure, the vessel a is connected to the throat and upstream of a Venturi tube k, and the float b, which is of conical form and has a density between the densities of the two liquids, has an extension b<1> and an indicator c projecting into a transparent extension d of the vessel. In other forms the float has an upward extension riding in a transparent tube, or a sighting tube is provided at the side of the vessel in which rides a separate float.
