Abstract

471,983. Levels. GILLIE, J. W., and BRADY, W. B. March 18, 1937, No. 8316/36. [Class 97 (ii)] Two immiscible liquids of different densities are contained in a tube system and the indicating meniscus moves in a small bore tube inclined to the vertical. Two reservoirs A, A<1> are provided for the heavier liquid and the lighter liquid lies above the heavier liquid in the reservoir A. A scale C adjacent the small bore tube may be adjusted longitudinally to correct for temperature errors. An upper chamber B is provided to assist in restoring the liquids to their proper positions after disturbance.
