Abstract

280,191. Robins Conveying Belt Co., (Assignees of Tuite, F..1., and Lodge, G. F.). Nov. 6, 1926, [Convention date,]. Roller-way conveyers.-In apparatus for screening coal, coke, &c. of the kind comprising discs mounted on parallel shats rotating in the same direction, the discs 16, Fig. 1, are associated with converging tapered spacing elements 17 and means are provided for adjusting the relative positions of the discs on adjacent shafts, so as to vary the size of the screening openings. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, the discs and tapered elements are made in one and are mounted in contact on shafts 23 so as to rotate therewith. The longitudinal position on the shaft is controlled by nuts 24 and springs 20. In the modification shown in Fig. 5, cylindrical spacing members 26 are placed between the disc elements. In a further modification, Fig. 6, the tapered elements 17<1> are formed at the ends of spoolshaped spacers 26<1>.
