Separating by passing over or through graduated apertures.-Apparatus for grading eggs, fruit, vegetables &c. according to size consists of a number of endless bands 16 arranged in pairs, the members of each pair diverging in the direction of the length of the machine, and passing over rollers 8, 9 with grooves. 14, 15. Between each pair of bands is arranged a lath which serves the purpose of guiding the articles being graded and prevents sagging of the bands. The space under the bands is divided into compartments 18, 19, 20 by adjustable plates 21, and delivering means such as an inclined endless band may be provided in each compartment. The rollers 9 is journaled in an adjustable bearing 10.
