Abstract

300,186. Lord, S. S., and Tootal, Broadhurst, Lee Co., Ltd. Aug. 8, 1927. Endless - belt conveyers.-In apparatus wherein textile fibres are treated with liquids while subjected to pressure between two conveyers travelling at 'different speeds, the upper conveyer 17 comprises rolls 18 which are spaced apart a distance less than the normal staple length of the fibre and are journaled on pins 19 on holders 20 carried by a chain 21. Pressure can be applied to the rolls 18 by a belt 22 passing under a series of weighted rods 23. The velocities of the belt 22 and the conveyer 17 are adjusted so that the rolls 18 revolve slowly. The rolls 18 may be replaced by knife edges with motion in a rectangular path.
