Flat endless-belt conveyers; tensioning. - A conveyer for passing loose fibrous material through dyeing and like apparatus comprises two endless belts 1, 3, Fig. 1, of woven cloth across which stiffening-rods are secured, the adjacent portions of the belts being stretched laterally by ropes 44<a>. Fig. 7, secured to the edges of the belts and engaging with pairs of half-pulleys 45<a> mounted on the framework, the edge of each belt passing between a pair of half-pulleys. The belts are kept in tension by weighted rollers 8 and by guide-rollers 7 mounted on adjustable bearings controlled by handwheels 11.
