Abstract

104,818. Casablancas, F. July 20, 1916. Addition to 12477/12. Rollers and roller heads.-The lower belt of the endless pair of belts used in the mechanism described in the parent Specification is replaced by a plate 9, Fig. 1, which may be flat or curved, or by one or more rollers 13, Fig. 4. The drawing- cylinders 3, 86, 87, 88, 89 existing in the ordinary spinning-machines are utilized. The size of the plate 9 or the numbers of rollers 13 may be varied, according to the length of fibres worked, with the aid of distance-pieces 74. The upper belt may pass around the rollers 5, 86, as shown in Fig. 1, or it may pass around the roller 88 and enclose the roller 86, as shown in Fig. 4. A belt-stretcher, consisting of a weighted lever 103 pivoted at 102 and carrying a roller 106, may be used. Specifications 11613/13 and 9692/15 also are referred to.
