Abstract

Rollers and roller heads. - In drawing- mechanism for drawing or spinning frames, a single upper roller 7, which may be weighted, is used in contact with feed rollers 1, 2, so that the roving passes through the two nips so formed and in contact with the lower part of the roller 7, and means comprising an endless belt 4, Fig. 1, or one or a pair of upper rollers giving three nipping points a, b, c, as shown in Fig. 3, is provided to maintain the roving in contact with the upper part of the roller 2, so as to ensure even and regular movement of the roving to the drawing-rollers 3, 3<1>. The roller 8, Fig. 5, serves to guide the band and to ensure a light even pressure on the roving, and is arranged in advance of the roller 2 and as near as practicable to the drawing-rollers. The roller 2 or both of the rollers 1, 2 may be arranged in a plane above that of the drawing- rollers.
