Abstract
1,069,517. Rubbing fibres. M. REITER. March 26, 1965 [March 26, 1964], No. 13060/ 65. Heading D1N. In a device for rubbing textile fibre, e.g. a sliver 1, the fibre passes between an endless belt 2 and a roller 5, the roller 5 being so positioned that part of the outer surface of belt 2 is concave. The rollers 4 and 5 are reciprocated in known manner. As shown belt 2 passes over a roller 4 and a tensor roller 6 while roller 5 is ancircled by a belt 3 passing over a tensor roller 7. In an alternative form roller 6 is positioned so that belt 2 also wraps about roller 7. In Fig. 3 (not shown) belt 2 runs about a sector of a roller 8 having a resilient surface e.g. of leather or rubber. The rubbing device may be arranged so that the sliver enters horizontally and leaves vertically either upwardly or downwardly or the sliver may enter vertically and leave horizontally.
