Abstract

332,271. Morton, W. A. April 15, 1929. Driving-gear for endless-belt conveyers; tensioning.-An endless belt conveyer 1 preferably of woven wire fabric is pulled into gripping contact with a driving drum 23 having a flexible covered periphery by guide pulleys 22, 24, the latter of which is adjustable by screw-and-nut mechanism 25 to vary the arc of contact. The tension of the belt is adjusted initially by moving the roller 26 by screw-and-nut mechanism 30, 31. Slack is taken up by the movement of a weighted roller 32 in a guide 34.
