323,655. British Jeffrey-Diamond, Ltd., and Lithgoe, J. Jan. 15, 1929. Tensioning belts. - In endless-belt conveyers for use in coal mining wherein the tail-end portion B is associated telescopically with the stationary intermediate portion A, the part B is moved with respect to the part A to tension the belt C by flexible members I. Each rope I is secured at J to the outer end of the part A and is passed round a pulley K.mounted on the part B to a winding drum L also mounted on the part B. The drums L are mounted on a shaft M having pawl-and-ratchet mechanism 0, P for holding it in position.
