Abstract
277,935. Schaer, C. Sept. 25, 1926, [Convention date]. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-In an engine of the kind in which liquid fuel is injected by spraying air and in which light or heavy fuel may be used alternatively light fuel is delivered to one sprayer only and heavy fuel to one or more additional sprayers. The spraying valves 1, 2 are actuated by cams 17, 18 through levers 12, 13 and rock-shafts 5, 6. The lever 13 is mounted on an eccentric which, when moved to the position I by the hand-lever 20, puts the lever 13 out of action. The same movement of the lever 20 closes the valve 26, cutting off the sprayer 2 from the supply pipe 23. When more than one additional sprayer is used for the heavy fuel, their number may be automatically controlled in accordance with the load.
