265,128. Wehli, M. Jan. 28, 1926, [Convention date]. Carding - engines; openers, &c. - The bars A of the grids of cleaning, beating, carding, &c. machines are so constructed and arranged that each of the openings between the bars constitutes a space of gradually increasing and subsequently decreasing cross-section so that a reduction in the velocity and a drop in the pressure of the air passing therethrough is effected. Each bar is provided at the upper edge with a flange B and below the flange with a recess C, preferably of the form shown. Specification 265,130 is referred to.
