Abstract

1382093 Sifting apparatus SOC ANON DES ETABS NEU 13 April 1972 [14 April 1971 14 March 1972] 17083/72 Heading B2H [Also in Division D1] In a fiber blending apparatus in which fibers supplied to a chest 5 are suspended on an air cushion two dirt separating stages are provided Firstly in distributers 4, 4' the fibers are passed over perforate covers 15, 15' by wheels 13, 13 with flexible flaps 14. Also opener drums 25, 28 below the chest cooperate with grid bars 33, 33' through which debris passes. This action is assisted by an outward air flow caused by internal vanes 48 and controlled by dampers on the drum ends, Fig. 6 (not shown). Waste is collected in boxes 52, 52' and the exhausted air is conveyed to dust extractors.
