Abstract
467,010. Grids for openers ; carding- engines &c. TECHNIK & INVESTMENT AKT.-GES. Dec. 2, 1936, No. 33004. Convention date, Dec. 27, 1935. [Class 120 (i)] The cleaning-grid of a machine for opening, cleaning, or carding fibres having a cylinder 5 with saw-tooth or card clothing 6, Fig. 1, comprises grid bars .3 on which their blades 1 are mounted so as to extend beyond the grid bars in a direction toward the axis of the cylinder. The blades 1 are welded to strips 2 of sheet metal secured to the grid bars 3 and the length of the part of the blade projecting beyond the grid bar is adjustable as shown in Fig. 4. The blades may be disposed radially, Fig. 1, or inclined, Fig. 5, and are angularly adjustable in slotted brackets 8. The scraping edges of the blades 1 may have semicircular recesses, Fig. 6.
