Abstract

236,356. Disley, A. June 10, 1924. Combing-machines. - In a Heilmann or Nasmith combing-machine ha.ving a top nipper blade 3 with the usual projecting lip or finger 6 a blade 5 is mounted on the front of the nipper blade so as to project beyond the lip 6 and to be capable of flexing away from the nipper blade if brought into contact with the comb needles 10 or an obstruction on the comb cylinder 8. To strengthen the blade 5 a number of blades 11 may be superposed each successive blade being shorter than. the one nearer the nipper blade. The blades may be divided by vertical slits, the slits in the additional blades alternating with those in the main blade 5. The lower edge of the blade 5 may be bent at right angles.
