Abstract

283,655. Forkin, J. Oct. 16, 1926. Openers, cleaners, &c.-In an opener for cotton &c. of the type in which the fibres fed to a lickerin are drawn by suction along a duct to a revolving perforated cylinder having part of its periphery screened to allow the fibres to be removed, stationary flats G, G<1> covered with card clothing are provided above the licker-in B and above and below the second clearer roller C, where such roller is employed. A chain of revolving card clothed flats B' is arranged below the licker-in. These flats travel over an adjustable bend B<2> and are provided with a stripper b<3>. The flats G, G<1> may be adjustable. A fixed plate A<1> is arranged between the feed-rollers a and the licker-in B. Specifications 178,470 and 190,745 are referred to in the Provisional Specification.
