Abstract
138,603. Sig, C. Feb. 4, 1919, [Convention date]. Carding-engines.-In the carding of cotton or waste the fibre is worked by small slowly rotating card-covered rollers 1, mounted adjustably with reference to the cylinder 3 or equivalent device. The roller 1 rotates between guards 4, which serve to limit the zone of action and to produce air compression. The roller 1 is cleared by an oscillating comb 5 or other equivalent device. These rollers may be applied to the breaker roll or may replace some or all of the flats, workers, and strippers, working in connexion with the cylinder.
