Abstract

Carding-engines; feeding carding-engines.-In a scribbler the taker-in 7 is provided with pointed round pins inclined in the direction of rotation. The fibre a<1> is taken off the taker-in by a brush 8 and passed to rollers 10, 11 provided with ordinary clothing, which transfer it to the cylinder 12. The waste a<11> is thrown off tangentially from the taker-in, and is guided by a knife 9 and plate 9<1>. The fibre may bo fed to the taker-in by feed rollers 2, 3 and rollers 4, 5, 6 with pointed round teeth, or by a toothed or fluted roller working with a dish feed.
