437,100. Stripping fibrous leaves &c. KRUPP GRUSONWERK AKT.-GES., F., Buckau, Magdeburg, Germany. May 30, 1935, No. 15782. Addition to 429,606. [Class 120 (i)] The machine for stripping the leaves and other fibrous parts of plants described in the parent Specification, and comprising a drum 3 having beater blades 4, Fig. 1, and a breast piece 1 having a strip fitted to its working surface at the outlet end of the gap, is modified in that the strip 5, Fig. 2, is arranged between the inlet and outlet ends of the gap. The edges 51 of the strip 5 are preferably bevelled while the strip may be made reversible on the breast piece so that when worn it may be turned end for end. It may also be mounted so as to be displaceable longitudinally of the gap. The working surface of the strip 5 may be of curved cross-section.
