Abstract

247,979. Fievet, E. Feb. 21, 1925, [Convention date]. Heckling-machines.-The fibres and dirt which fall from the flax, hemp, &c. as it is being treated by the heckle sheets 1 are received on an oscillating grid 7, which allows the dirt to fall through and collects the fibres and passes them to the tow brushes 2. The grid is formed of a series of vertical plates 7 threaded on a shaft 3, and covers the whole of the space between the brushes 2. The upper surfaces of the plates are provided with a central ridge 10 and extend in curves 10<1> slightly raised at the ends 10<11>. The oscillation of the grid is timed to meet the heckles and the brushes as they rotate. A series of shaped rods or needles may replace the plates 7.
