Gases, supplying. - In an annealing furnace through which gas is passed to maintain a non- oxidizing atmosphere, the outlet passage for the gas is kept, over the whole of the length, at a temperature above the condensation temperature of any vapours likely to be formed during the annealing process. To effect this the outlet passage may be heat insulated or may be heated by means of electric heating-coils.
