Printed records, apparatus for giving.-A poise weight for steel yard weighing-apparatus has a pair of printing rollers arranged in tandem and adapted to be raised and traversed by a printing handle so that the printing operation is effected by a comparatively short movement of the printing rollers, means being provided for returning the rollers to their out-of-action position. The poise is made in upper and lower portions 8<a>, 8<b> and carries two slide bars 10, 11 for balancing the minor orders of weight, for example owts. and fractional parts thereof respectively. The undersides of the bars and of the steelyard 9 are provided with type numerals in the ordinary way. Attached within the lower part of the poise by means of bolts 20 is a frame 19 formed with two pairs of cam surfaces 19<a>, 19<b> over which the ends of axles 13<a>, 14<a> carrying printing rollers 13, 14 are adapted to pass. The axles are coupled together by parallel links 15 and are moved by means of a printing handle 16. After setting the poise and its slide bars 10, 11, a ticket is introduced into a ticket guide 25 and the printing handle is turned into the position shown by dotted lines thus causing the rollers to be raised by the cam surfaces 19<a>, 19<b> and to be drawn along the ticket to obtain an impression from the type. The ticket guide is cut away to allow the full traverse of the printing rollers. The frame 19 is supported on spring washers 22 and may be adjusted vertically. Resiliently mounted nibs are carried by the lower part of the poise to position the auxiliary slide bars 10, 11.
