Abstract

Platform machines; spring balances.-Relates to the platforms of weighing-scales and consists in the provision of means for securing the uniform depression of the platform under the weight of the load. As shown, the base comprises a frame 6, Figs. 1, 2, and 3, having crossrails 7 supporting rollers 8, the rollers being connected to the rails and the bars 10 carrying the weighing-platform 19 by springs 9, Fig. 4, and springs 12, Fig. 3, respectively. Arms 13 are rigidly secured at the ends of the rollers. The arms at one end of the rollers are connected by a spring 15 to a weigh-beam or dial, and at the other end of the rollers are coupled by a spring 14. Lateral movement of the arms is prevented by springs 17 fitted between pairs of lugs 16 on the arms and secured at one end to the frame.
