Abstract
366,489. Seat adjustments. CHAPMAN, A. W., Spring Vale, Howards Lane, Putney, London. Nov. 3, 1930, No. 33051. Class 52 (ii).] A seat-adjusting mechanism comprises slides R, L, working on stationary parallel guides or rails A, B, the power for adjusting the seat being applied from one side only of the seat and being distributed between the two sides by two cross-rods X, Y, pivoted together at or near their centre points G, and extending from one side of the seat to the other. In the device shown, the slide R carries a rotatable handle Q carrying a threaded rod O engaging a nut P on the fixed rail A, the lower ends of the slide R and rail A being pivoted to the cross-rods X, Y respectively. The other ends of the cross-rods may be connected to the members B, L by links E, F, or by pin and slot connections. The device may be used for providing' a horizontal, vertical or tilting adjustment of the seat.
