[Class 52 (ii)] [See also Group XXV] A locking device for the adjustment of parts of chairs comprises two lever members through which passes a standard 1 supporting the back of the chair, one of the levers for instance being constituted by the housing 2, a spring 4 causing the free lever 3 to bind on the standard 1, and a spindle 7 mounted adjacent the lever 3 and having a cam surface 7<a> adapted to move the lever 3 so as to release the standard. The spindle 7 is operated by means of a lever 8.
