477,618. Adjustable seats. FOSTER, E. C. July 9, 1936, No. 19018. [Class 52 (ii)] In a chair having a slidably adjustable seat 8 co-operating with a pivoted part 14 of the back, the upper part 15 of the back is pivoted to the frame at 21 and is adjustable independently of the lower part. The seat is slidable on runners, and carries brackets 20 which engage the lower part 14 of the back frame. The latter is pivoted at 17 to blocks on the main back frame 15. A spring may be provided to return the upper part of the back to normal position.
