255,805. Siemens - Schuckertwerke Ges. July 22, 1925, [Convention date]. Addition to 242,987. Couplings, disconnectible; joints with packing operated by fluid pressure. -In a pipe joint of the type described in the parent Specification wherein axial movement of the ends of the pipes to be coupled, which takes place when the piping is exposed to pressure, is utilized for compressing a packing body, the pipe ends 1, 2 are provided with pressure bodies 3, 4, each connected to the opposite pipe and adapted to press packing rings 5, 6 against each other and against the pipe ends. The connection of the members 3, 4 to the pipes 2, 1 comprises hooks 10, 9 secured to ring members 12, 11 rotatably mounted on the pipes 2, 1 and adapted to engage projections 7, 8 on the said member 3, 4 respectively. The pressure bodies are, to a limited extent, both longitudinally and rotatably adjustable.
